NM state fair 9/4 to 9/14 2025 deals, entertainment, food, and fun

 With the aroma of roasting chiles in the air and back to school you know the New Mexico state fair is right around the corner. This year they are offering the Mega pass for $40.50 which includes unlimited rides and admission. That could save you up to $20 on weekend pricing. Fair Hours

Here's the deals

  • If you want to go on unlimited rides any day of the week the Mega Pass is a good deal $40.50 includes an all day ride wristband and admission. the ride wristbands usually go for $30 - $40 at the midway weekdays vs weekends. these are only available for a limited time prior to the State Fair. 
  • Dollar day is Wednesday 9/10. Admission and ride tickets are $1. earlier in the day is the best time to go. It gets busy when the Midway opens at 2. 
  • Main street days has specific themes each day and offers free admission on that day to Law enforcement, fire fighters, military, and veterans. 
  • Thursdays are Graze days, All food vendors will offer one regular menu item for just $5 from 10 am - 4 pm.

Getting there

  • Gate 1 on Central has parking available for $10.00 from Monday through Thursday and $20.00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gate 8 on Louisiana offers ample parking but fills quickly. Parking for Gate 8 is $10.00. There is free handicap parking at both gates. 
  • There is a shuttle from Coronado Mall for $10 per person
  • Ride share like Uber and Lyft has a drop off gate at California and Domingo.
  • Bike Valet will check your bike during fair hours FREE enter at San Pedro gate 4

  • Opening day 9/4 Thursday is Law Enforcement appreciation day. 
  • 9/5 Firefighters, Smoky Bear and Red Ribbon Relay day 
  • 9/6 & 9/7 Classic and Antique cars
  • 9/8 Monday is Healthy living and Senior day. 
  • 9/9 Tuesday is Military and Veterans day. Free admission for all active & retired military and veterans with valid ID 
  • 9/10 Wednesday is Pathways to College and Career day. 
  • 9/11 Thursday is Gathering of Counties and New Mexico True day. 
  • 9/12 Friday is Science & Technology and Environment Appreciation Day
  • 9/13 & 9/14 Closing weekend Hot rods, custom cars, and more classic cars

Music and performances all over the fairgrounds. Whatever your music taste you can probably find it at the Fair. National Headliners and local talent. 

Food Options that range from Cotton Candy, fry bread, burritos, Pizza, Green Chile cheeseburgers and giant turkey legs. Its all there and more. 
Arts, crafts, new fun stuff. Great American Duck Races.

New Mexico State Fair 2021 Deals and discounts

NM State fair at Expo NM deals and discounts Sep. 8-18, 2016




School is back in session, the smell of green chile in the air, this means it must be time for the state fair. Its a great time to get out and go on some carnival rides, eat cotton candy, caramel apples, and giant turkey legs. make sure you wear your comfortable shoes because there is plenty of walking to do. there are also strollers and wheelchairs available if needed. If you want to go and not spend a lot of money there are discount days.

Special recognition
The fair utilizes special recognition days as a way to honor those New Mexicans who have dedicated their careers to public service in the classroom, on the street and in the trenches. On special recognition days, honored attendees are admitted free into the fair with proper identifying information. (don't forget your ID)

Walgreens advance purchase discount 
August 11 through September 9, the advance tickets will be on sale at all New Mexico Walgreens locations. Adult passes cost only $7, and passes for seniors and children cost $6. Additionally, thanks to Reithoffer Shows in collaboration with the fair, patrons have the option to buy a significantly reduced carnival ride wrist band (also known as the mega pass) for which the cost of purchase includes FREE admission into the fair. The Mega Pass ticket sells for $28 and allows fairgoers unlimited carnival rides on any one day of the fair.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, admission into the fair is $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for kids and seniors and the cost of the ride wristbands is $35.

Free parking at Gate 8 on Louisiana and Central. 
 Preferred Parking is available at Gate 1 on Central. $
Bus to the Fair
>State Fairgoers can use ABQ RIDE regular service from any of its four Park and Ride facilities. Four ABQ RIDE bus routes, including Rapid Ride Routes #766, #777, and Route #66 will drop off and pick up Fairgoers at Central and Louisiana and at other bus stops adjacent to the Fairgrounds. 
>Additional service in the form of a free, weekend shuttle at the Fair will be provided during the run of the Fair. ABQ RIDE will operate a free shuttle from Noon to 11:30 p.m. on the Fair's two weekends (Sept 11th, 12th, 13th, and Sept. 18th, 19th, 20th). It will pick up Fairgoers inside Gate 9 (the Downs Casino Gate) and shuttle them to the Admission booths inside the State Fairgrounds.  On Saturday, September 12th, the shuttle will not run until 2 p.m. due to road closures for the State Fair Parade. Fairgoers can use four ABQ RIDE lots for regular bus service to the State Fairgrounds. The most recommended Park and Ride for Fairgoers is the closest one to the Fair, the Uptown Transit Center Park and Ride facility, located just south of Coronado Shopping Center. Plenty of room is available for parking. The other Park and Ride facilities are located at: Coors By-Pass and Ellison (Northwest Transit Center), Central and Unser (Central and Unser Transit Center).

Bike to the Fair

BikeABQ and the New Mexico State Fair have partnered up to offer patrons a place to park their bikes while attending the State Fair. 
Bike to the Fair and feel secure that the bike valet will secure your bicycles while you enjoy the Fair.  The bike valet will be on the inside of Gate 4 (San Pedro just north of Copper).  FREE

    The Parade begins at 8:45am at the corner of Louisiana and Central and proceeds east towards Eubank. The Parade breaks up BEFORE it reaches Eubank.
    The midway carnival operates from approximately 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Monday through Thursday, and approximately 11 a.m. to midnight every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during Fair. 

    Daily Ride Passes $25 Monday through Thursday; 

    $30 Friday through Sunday.
