First we booked the Hotel on Priceline. Through My Points. Any purchases and travel I do I like to use My Points so I can earn free gift cards with points. here is a link to My Points . Then on priceline we selected the Express deals option and selected a 3 star property for $62 a night (2 nights) we chose the air force academy area which is a nice side of town. We ended up getting the Marriot residence inn which was going for over 100 dollars on priceline. It was an all suite property, with an indoor pool, fitness room, putting green, basketball and tennis court. great free breakfast buffet. I had a strawberry waffle, with whipped cream.

they had plenty of options to choose from. Friday night we tried out the Airplane restaurant. It was a fun place with good food. Saturday we went to Garden of the Gods State park. FREE attraction and beautiful as ever.

Another money saving option is to use Gas Buddy to figure out how much gas is going to cost according to your vehicle and go to trip cost calculator and it will suggest where to fill up at the cheapest places also. just click the tab on the top of my page to take you directly to the Gas buddy app.
After we were done with the Garden of the Gods park we checked out the trading post there. kind of pricey there, might not want to get your souvenirs there.
We had lunch at Mamma Pearls Which I saw on living social. I think that has expired but they have a special on restaurant.com   While we were there they demonstrated how to properly eat crawfish.  small place great food. I had the cajun dinner sampler only 11.99 had 3 food choices.
we went to the Ghost town museum they have a $1 off admission coupon on their web page. they had a shooting gallery. many rooms with Old time artifacts.

we finished off Saturday with Pizza at Pizzaria Rustica in Old Colorado city. a restaurant in a historic 1889 building with a patio. It was a little chilly for the summer so check the weather ahead of time. It did turn out to be a great trip.
