25th Annual National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show



Now in its 25th year, it’s the largest and most visited show about spicy foods and barbecue in the world. Held each March in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it features 200+ exhibitor booths filled with more than 1,000 different products. The show attracts more than 17,000 trade and general public attendees from all over the world.
For the 25th anniversary of the Fiery Foods Show, we’ll be adding special events and other surprises. Come to the show and help us celebrate a quarter century of chilehead fun!
Public Hours:
            Friday, March 1, 2013 – 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
            Saturday, March 2, 2013 – 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
            Sunday, March 3, 2013 – 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Ticket Prices:
Adults  - $15
Children Up to Age 18 – $5
Children under 6 years: free.
CASH ONLY at the door.  Checks and credit cards accepted at the TicketMaster counter inside Sandia Resort & Casino.  ATM machines are available inside the resort & casino.

"Art Gone Wild" at Weems Gallery

Art Gone Wild features Painting Animals: original works of art created by ABQ BioPark Zoo elephants, primates, alligators, insects and more.Weems GalleryLeaving www.cabq.gov, click for disclaimer will include more than 50 paintings from more than 20 animals. Rozie and Alice the elephants, Sarabi the African lioness, Azeo the snow leopard and Tusa the lowland gorilla all created paintings for the exhibit.
Local New Mexican artists are also selling original art work. Participating human artists include David Moss, Dana Pomroy, Fred Yost, Mary Oelschlaeger, Weems, Lu Heater and Mary Beth Goforth.
Proceeds from art sales provide enrichment items for animal artists at the Zoo. Keepers set up monthly painting sessions and other enrichment activities to provide animals with exercise and stimulation.
